Virtual Bridge Building

My evil brother introduced me to this deceptively simple game over the weekend and now all my time is stolen building ever more complicated and elegant bridges. Never mind the slightly ropey gfx - it's all in the game, like the best mechano set ever. Who'd have thought there'd be a Mac OSX version of it?.. Damnit...I'll never get my portfolio done now...

My sentiments exactly...

This vid from Greenpeace is nice. My skin creeps at the sight of a Hummer H2 or Range Rover sport these days. They don't get the breaks they should if they want to get out of a side road if I've got anything to do with it either. Luckily - I read in the Grauniad that sales in the UK are dropping. I like to feel that I've done my little bit with the odd issue of fake parking tickets from 'Stop Urban 4x4s.co.uk'. Scowl at the drivers as you pass them with their mobile phones to their ears. Make them feel silly. Guilty even.

Blah iTunes Protected format

People whinge. "How do I play songs I bought on iTunes on more than a few machines?" Why they do this - when it's so easy to make them your own - is beyond me....

1) Get 'Protected' tracks. Put them into Toast.
2) Make an audio disk image of said tracks
3) Mount disk image to desktop
4) 'Rip' the virtual CD into the non protected format of your choice.

This isn't news but I keep reading about how annoying it is and other massively over-complicated guides to do the above.
It totally sorted me out with some FLAC files I ...er... found on teh interwebs earlier...

Beverages on a motherf*cking plane

This piece pretty much sums up my own thoughts upon hearing of the latest 'terror threat' to the 'free west' last week.

Bombs in pop cans? Oh please. Credit your population with some intelligence you warmongering arse-hinges. Making women carry their unwrapped sanitary products onto planes in see-through ziploc bags for bogus reasons of 'plane safety' must surely be the new low in western humiliation.

Maybe it was just a dress rehearsal for something special they've got lined up for 11/09/06? So they can 'do' Iran or Syria. Mark my words; it will happen; We are the baddies.

This stuff makes me very angry and fuels my increasing sense of raw shame to be associated with a nation that can cook up these insultingly crude alerts for the manipulation and control of its populace. The really sad thing is that it appears to be working. I despair.

To misquote Mr Samuel L Jackson "Right - That's it—I have had it with these motherf*cking beverages on this motherf*cking plane!!!"
